peppermintMany, many people make a New Year’s Resolution (unfortunately every year) to lose weight.  I am going to cut to the chase and once again remind everyone that the secret to losing weight is less calories in, more calories out!  More simply put, you have to watch what you eat and exercise as much as you can to burn off more calories.

While at the dentist’s office in December, I read an article about the scent of peppermint oil controlling one’s appetite and actually helping a person eat less.  I did my own research, finding that peppermint overall has a lot of health benefits, and decided to give it a try.  I am finishing up my third week with this routine, inhaling the scent of peppermint every two hours, and am reporting that it is working for me.

I believe positive thinking is also something you need for weight loss, and maybe that is what this peppermint oil allowed me, but it doesn’t matter.  At first the weight stayed off (over Christmas no less) and now I am starting to actually lose a few pounds.  I do feel less hungry and am less inclined to eat all the time.

And, by the way, if you tire of peppermint, then move on to grapefruit.  This scent, as well, is showing great promise in reducing appetites.

There are many health and nutrition experts in the Tulsa area that will help with specific weight loss questions you have.
